about

A poem in sound about The City, set in Belfast.

For urbanites, the shared city - often a temporary node in 21st century transitory state of living - can become a significant part of their (adopted) identity.

Yet at the same time, is it not also the combined personal identities of the inhabitants that give cities a unique identity?

Five stanzas talk of the urban environment as an adopted home, the metropolis as a constantly changing and adapting organism that feeds from us, and we from it.

Each miniature takes a relevant field recording made around Belfast, for the words to make a temporary home within the sound environment.
